Back to back 70 plus scoring performances has the Badgers sporting new confidence. Prescott came from behind to knock off district foe Mingus Union Marauders 75-69, Wednesday night at the Badger Dome. The night before, the Badgers played a road game, beating Cactus 79-59.

Things started off slow for the Badgers as Mingus jumped on top 17-8 midway through the opening quarter. Enter Justin Kimball, who made his presence felt almost immediately, drilling a pair of threes, along with a couple of free throws, to get Prescott back to within a single digit, at 17-16. The Marauders, led by senior Alex Figy's 21 points, held the lead throughout the first half, but Prescott managed to stay within striking distance.

Trailing 39-35 at the half, the Badgers Cameron Parsons stepped up for his own three point show. Parsons scored 16 of his 19 points in the second half, along with Kimball and Dallin Jex, Prescott overtook Mingus by outscoring the Marauders 22-12 in the third quarter. The game was tied numerous times in the third quarter, and was tied at 51 with :25 left until Kimball hit a three, followed by Parsons three, as the clock ran out, putting the Badgers up by six, 57-51 at the end of three quarters.

Mingus battled back to tie the game at 59 with 5:14 to play, on a midrange jumper by Bryce Cramer. The Badgers came right back when Braden Lopez took it hard to the glass to give Prescott the lead for good. Jex drilled a three from the baseline to extend the lead to 64-59 with 4:39 left.

Prescott picked up the defense in the final minutes as Mingus had trouble getting the ball in the basket to secure the win.

Mingus Union drops to (0-1) in district, and (5-4), while the Badgers improve to (1-0), and (3-5). Prescott will play their third game in as many days, when they host Washington tonight at 7pm.
