Deputy Douglas Owens Racks Up Awards

On January 31, 2008 Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputy of the Year for 2007, Douglas Owens was presented with a five day scholarship award to the Gunsite Academy in Paulden, Arizona by the Jeff Cooper Legacy Foundation.
After 23 years, Yavapai Silent Witness (YSW), is returning to its original home, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office (YCSO), who will act as the new host agency.
The police officer thought it was just a routine traffic stop, but it quickly became much more, according to Steve Norwood, Prescott City Manager.
It started with an idea and a question. And, once the idea became reality, the question was answered.
