Prescott Valley Police Apprehend Bank Robbery Suspect Who Barricaded Himself in Home

On Friday, November 12th, 2021, at 10:10 AM, a Hispanic male in his 30’s with long brown hair, a black sweatshirt, and black pants robbed the Wells Fargo Bank located at 7520 State Route 69, Prescott Valley, Arizona.

Minutes later, Prescott Valley Police responded, arrived on scene, interviewed bank employees, and collected evidence related to the crime. The Police determined that the bank robber had gotten away from the bank with money.

Based on evidence collected by police at scene, they were able to determine who the suspect was and where he resided in Prescott Valley. Police Officer responded to the suspect’s address in the 6400 block of Sunset Drive in Prescott Valley, where the suspect refused to exit the residence where he resided and had barricaded himself in. A perimeter was then established around the residence in question by Prescott Valley Police and Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office personnel.

The Prescott Valley Police Department Negotiations Squad and the Special Weapon and Tactics Team (SWAT) were notified and responded to the scene a short time later. Upon arrival of the Negotiations and SWAT teams, the suspect surrendered to the police without incident and was arrested.

No bank employees, police officers, sheriff’s deputies, or suspect(s)were injured during the incident.

The Prescott Valley Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is currently investigating the crime and has coordinated with the United States Federal Bureau of Investigations.

*The person(s) involved has not yet been convicted of a crime and is/are presumed innocent. The presumption of innocence shall continue until such time that the person(s) accused may be found guilty by a court of law.
