Watch ASU Sun Devils plays BYU Saturday night at a ASU Alumni Watch Party

Sun Devil Nation is excited about the new season ahead. Last season fans were disappointed when more than half of the Sun Devils’ games were cancelled due to COVID. Sometimes their opponents fell ill and sometimes the Devils tested positive, allowing for only four total games played!

This year’s home schedule includes visits from Colorado, Stanford, Washington State, USC and arch rivals U of A Wildcats.

Fresh off victories over Southern Utah and UNLV, the now 19th ranked team in the nation – Arizona State Sun Devils – will play Brigham Young University (BYU) this Saturday.

It’s a “difficult matchup,” BYU coach Kalani Sitake said Monday in his weekly press briefing, because the Sun Devils (2-0) are every bit as talented and physical as Utah was, perhaps more so.

Because of the Devils’ talent the Cougars coach is concerned. “Athletes and size and playmaking ability in a lot of different places,” Kalani Sitake said, in a news conference. BYU is also 2-0 but ranked 23rd.

As every BYU fan knows, the Cougars not only started 3-0 last year, but they went 9-1.

“They have a really dynamic quarterback that causes a lot of problems. Jayden Daniels is a really, really good player. He has a lot of poise. He just seems like a veteran right now, and he is surrounded by a physical, athletic offensive line, good tight ends that can block and catch, and a number of skill players at running back and receiver that have tons of athleticism and speed.” — BYU football coach Kalani Sitake on ASU.

ASU fans and players are excited for the coaching staff’s return led by Fourth-year Head Coach Herm Edwards who played in the NFL, coached in the NFL and was an analyst for ESPN!

The ASU Alumni Association is planning a football game watch party for 7pm Saturday the 18th at Jersey Lilly’s at:

Jersey Lilly Saloon

116 S. Montezuma St.

Prescott, AZ 86303

The local watch parties will include a few free ASU blings provided by the Alumni Association. Go Sun Devils!
