Lamerson notes that there will be someone on staff 24/7.

Wilcox asks if this project will serve female veterans, also. Answer: Yes.

Veterans will have priority, but others will also be accepted. Vets will be about 25% and general use is about 75%

There are 56 beds in the dorm style - and that will be dedicated to Veterans.

Blair asks how much water is already committed.

A year to get to a building permit, three years to get to project completion.

Council Memo Printout

Who decides?

Answer: Yes.

By combining and packaging projects, the city can save money. CMAR allows for fewer surprises, the price is guaranteed, and will not increase.

This can also add value due to the construction maintenance.

Sandy Griffis gets up to explain the CMAR process.

She thinks that CMAR is usually for multi-million dollar processes. She is unclear as to how it will work when it is spread out over 3-4 years.

Lamar points out that this gives us a downtown program that is cohesive.

Henry Hash notes that it makes it easier to plan in advance. There will be one contractor as a general contractor. "Regardless of what we are doing, there will be something unexpected," Hash said.

Fred Vail notes that some of the road projects affect Sharlot Hall. He has an agreement with APS to move the powerlines underground if they can combine their efforts with the City's roadwork.
