Customers and Friends Gathered to Escort Salazar's Hearse to Cottonwood Church

Motorcycles roared down Miller Valley Road on a bright Saturday morning as a crowd of customers and friends gathered at the parking lot of the popular Mexican food restaurant Taco Don's to remember the owner Jayme Salazar who died the previous week and escort the hearse from the funeral home to The Immaculate Conception Church in Cottonwood.

Salazar, 51, died Friday, April 28th 2017, when he was stuck on his motorcycle by a pickup truck crossing over into the southbound lane while heading south on Iron Springs Road according to Yavapai Country Sheriff’s spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn.

The restaurant was closed on throughout the weekend to remember Salazar before re-opening Monday morning as many came to leave flowers and notes for the fallen owner.

The group who gathered on Saturday morning came together and shared a small prayer before taking to the streets.
