Prescott Mayor Harry Oberg will host a second town-hall style meeting to follow up on a February 4 meeting about the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS). As in February, co-presenters will be City Manager Michael Lamar, and Leonard Gilroy, Director of Government Reform for the Reason Foundation. In addition, there will be a discussion on current economic development initiatives by Jim Robb.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. at the Centennial Center, 1 Perkins Drive, near the Airport and is expected to last 2-hours. Citizens and stakeholders are invited to attend.
The meeting is not intended to be a forum for debate for or against Proposition 443, which will ask voters in August to decide whether to levy an additional ¾ of a percent sales tax to pay down Prescott’s unfunded PSPRS liability. The meeting will focus on general pension reform as well as the strides the City is making in economic development to strengthen the local economy.
