Prescott City Clerk will begin accepting written arguments for August 29 Ballot Measures for publication on April 3

PRESCOTT, AZ (March 31, 2017) – Starting April 3, Prescott City Clerk’s Office will be accepting for/against written arguments for the August 29, 2017 Special Election, at which the following ballot measures will be presented:

Proposition 442

Proposing an Extension of Alternative Expenditure Limitation for the City of Prescott.

Proposition 443

Shall the City of Prescott adopt a transaction privilege tax of three-quarters of one percent (0.75%), the revenue from which shall be dedicated to the payment of the City’s unfunded liability to the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System, taking effect on January 1, 2018, and ending the earlier of December 31, 2027, or at such time as the City’s PSPRS unfunded liability is $1.5 million or less as determined by actuarial value.

Arguments will be accepted in the City Clerk’s Office, 201 South Cortez, Prescott, Arizona, from April 3, 2017 until May 31, 2017, at 5:00 p.m.; or received by postal mail at City of Prescott, City Clerk’s Office, 201 South Cortez Street, Prescott, Arizona 86303.

Arguments shall not exceed three hundred (300) words in length; and shall be accompanied by a $100.00 per argument deposit; shall include the signature(s) of those providing the argument(s); a copy of the argument must be submitted in electronic format; must include an address and phone number of the person submitting the argument (this information will not appear in the publicity pamphlet).
