PRESCOTT, AZ (March 17, 2017) – The Prescott National Forest will be closing Forest Road 611 and the parking lot at the North Shore picnic site at Lynx Lake on Tuesday, March 21. The one day closure is needed to allow for thinning operations to occur. The South Shore parking lot and picnic area and Trail 311 will not be impacted by the thinning project and will remain open for Forest visitor use. The thinning activity is part of the Amulet Stewardship Project and is designed to help improve the health and resiliency of fire-adapted ecosystems while simultaneously reducing hazardous fuels that pose a threat to life and property in the Wildland-Urban Interface.
