Attempted Homicide

On Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at about 10:30 pm, Prescott Valley Police responded to a call of a man down at Quailwood Greens Golf Course, 12625 E. Village Creek, Boulevard in Dewey. Investigation revealed an argument between two men led to one of them driving his F-350 pickup truck into the other and stabbing him in the face with a knife. Witnesses identified the suspect as 51-year-old Clint Hughes of Dewey, Arizona. Hughes fled the scene but turned himself in to police a short time later.

The victim, a 47-year-old Prescott Valley resident, was transported via helicopter to a Phoenix area hospital where he is being treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Hughes was booked into Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Jail on felony charges to include Attempted Homicide, Aggravated Assault and Endangerment.

Hughes has not yet been convicted of a crime and is presumed innocent. The presumption of innocence shall continue until such time that he may be found guilty by a court of law.
