“I, for one, support you.”

December 18, 2017

President Donald J. Trump
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

Dear President Trump:

Please see below the letter of support for your attempts to return America's prominence within a denigrated world-wide endeavor to protect freedom and righteousness.

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence." This extrapolation is from Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution. I would suggest, watching and listening to daily events, that Congress has not performed its duty, collectively or individually.

You want the United States' borders secured, as do many Americans. Whether geographically or electronically, this nation's security is your job as well as every true American's obligation. Every governmental employee and elected official takes an oath of office, they should be held accountable for doing anything else. Individual actions outside of an oath should absolutely have consequences. When a "citizen" attacks this country it is considered treason. When an immigrant, legal or illegal, or a foreigner attacks this country, they are enemy combatants. Our response should be expeditious and severe.

Article III, Section 3 of the United States Constitution defines treason as levying war against the country, or in adhering to their enemies or giving them aid and comfort. I would submit that enemies of the country should be dealt with accordingly. We have been in the past, for all intents and purposes, a society ascribing to law abiding behavior. Participating in illegal activity or condoning terrorist activity is anything but law abiding. Enemies are enemies and deviants are deviants. It's black and white, there is no gray. The judicial system defines our legal response to individual action, that's why judges are an important part of this country's fabric.

I am mortified that so-called "dreamers" include extremists committed to killing innocent Americans and others - men, women, and children. They consume our education, welfare, generosity, and ignorance to forward their mission. It is evident some are not here simply to pursue a better life. They employ weapons, drugs, violence, and a broken legal system as vehicles of opportunity. I submit that you are right. While you may not have said this verbatim, "How dumb are we?" we breed and feed cancer cells of destruction designed to kill us and others. Whether today or tomorrow, "they" want us and others dead and they are committed. I'm proud to call you my president. This country's enemies are indeed my enemies.

"Before he enter on the execution of his office, he shall take the following oath of affirmation: I do solemnly swear ( or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will do to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." You have thus far demonstrated that you mean it and those who would object are those who would object. I for one support you.

Sincerely,

Jim Lamerson, Councilmember

P.S.

Merry Christmas, President Trump, to you and your family. I am proud to say it from Arizona's official Christmas City designated by then democratic Governor Rose Mofford on April 6, 1989.
