After a whole lot of wrangling in past meetings, the Prescott Unified School District (PUSD) school board voted unanimously to acquire an addtional 75 laptops for Northpoint Expeditionary Learning Academy. However, they did not vote to lease the computers, but to purchase them out of the proceeds from the Nature Center land sale. The total cost is expected to be close to $119,000.
So, why, in just the second week of school, are there sleeping bags, pillows and duffel bags lining the halls at Northpoint Expeditionary Learning Academy? And, why are these kids all excited about coming to school even though it's the middle of summer?
Each year, during the final days of Prescott High School's academic year, custodians and staff are astonished at what they find in the trash. Usually, it is of epic proportions, requiring the rental of an extra large dumpster.
Washington School has a rich tradition in the Prescott community. And Principal Harold Tenney has a rich history with Washington Traditional School.
During the Prescott Unified School District Board study session on Tuesday, June 19, 2007, the issues of bond elections and new buildings were discussed. This Work Study Session was a follow-up to a previous Work Study session, held on May 23, 2007 in the Mile High Middle School library.

Crew leaders and community? Expeditions and intensives? Inquisitiveness celebrated? What? No scribbled star at the top of your paper for answering 10 questions properly? This doesn't sound like the high school I went to when I was a kid, and it probably doesn't sound like the school you attended 20 years ago, either.
