Prescott Aviation History Series: Evolution of an Aircraft Accident Crash Site

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will host an Aviation History Series event called “Evolution of an Aircraft Accident Crash Site,” 6-7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Prescott Campus Davis Learning Center. Please join us for a free presentation from William Waldock, professor of safety science.

Join us for a discussion exploring a fateful World War II aircraft crash and the ensuing investigation led by accident investigators from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

On Sept. 15, 1944, a plane carrying eight young airmen on a night navigator training mission crashed near Humphrey’s Peak, close to Flagstaff, Arizona. Waldock’s presentation will offer insights from the International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI) teams that have conducted meticulous investigations at the crash site for the past 30 years.

For more information or to RSVP, please contact Cathy Watt, event coordinator, at (928) 777- 6960, or email wattc@erau.edu.
