Mobilegeddon began taking over the internet as of April 21, 2015, as reported by TechCrunch, Googles Webmasters, and Inventist Media Marketing of Prescott. Is your website "mobile friendly"? If not, your site will take a hit in the rankings. Google's upcoming algorithm changes are so massive that it is stated by a Google Webmaster Trend analyst that "mobilegeddon" outranks the changes of Google's Panda and Penguin.
Simply stated - your website needs to be optimized for mobile platforms otherwise your sites rank will get spanked by Google.
Google stated on February 26, 2015, "Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices."

Google's New Ranking Method Places Emphasis on User ExperienceThere’s another reason why it is important to make sure your website is responsive on all platforms including PCs, tablets, and smart phones. There’s nothing more frustrating than going to a site on a mobile device and all you can see is a mini website on your phone! You’ve just lost that customer – they’ve moved on. Don’t think your customers use mobile phones – think again. Marketing analytics tell us otherwise. In fact:
