About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news.

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

Please use the contact form to send all comments and suggestions. We look forward to hearing from you.

- Drinking water

Metate Trailhead

Trail #40 (Clark Springs)

From the Metate Parking lot, go across the street to connect with the trails. Take this track until you see a dry lake of sand. Go across the “lake” and look for the big rocks and sign showing this trail.

boots3.jpg This trail is about 2 miles each way. The length is not bad, however, it is hilly and rocky in some spots. Watch your footing.
shade4.jpg More shade than sun. However, about .5 miles into the hike, there is about.25 miles with no trees. It does get much better after that point.
bike.jpg Ok for bikes (not great for youth bikes).
saddle.jpg Horses are welcome on this trail (but you need to start at Cayuse Trailhead)
water.jpg Water at the trailhead.
bathroom.jpg Clean restrooms at the trailhead.
money.jpg $2 parking fee
cell1.jpg Some cell reception.
camera.jpg This was one of my first hikes in Granite Mountain. It is a good length, pretty, with interesting highlights. For example, you will see an old building with bars on the windows about .25 miles into the hike. Just recently, the owner put on a new roof. Also, about1.5 miles on the trail, you will see a display of three huge boulders. The closest to the trail is about 20’ high, the next about 30’ and the last one about 40’! What an interesting site.
