About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news.

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

Prescott Valley Holds Successful Effluent Water Auction

The Town of Prescott Valley hosted its effluent water auction on October 29-30 and the results will yield more than $67 million that the Town can use to achieve its water and sustainable growth goals.

The auction is just one of the innovative approaches that municipalities in the Prescott Active (water) Management Area are taking to obtain maximum value for a scarce resource, protect the natural aquifer, and ensure sustainable growth in the area.

Prescott Valley’s auction attracted both local and out-of-state bidders who competed for the 2,724 acre-feet of offered effluent interests, increasing the price from a floor of $19,500 per acre-foot to a winning price of $24,650 per acre-foot.

The winning bidder, a New York-based investment group called Water Property Investors, LLC, will have until November 30, 2007 to close its bid with the Town. Under the purchase terms, Water Property Investors, LLC, may either use or re-sell the effluent interests. However, when the effluent interests are put to use, they must be put to a beneficial use within the Town.

For more information about the Town’s effluent water auction, please consult the Town’s website at www.pvaz.net.

Prescott Valley receives National Award for National Night Out 2007

The Prescott Valley Police Department is pleased to announce that the Town of Prescott Valley has been recognized with a national award by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) for its outstanding participation in the “24th Annual National Night Out” (NNO) crime, drug, and violence prevention program.

This year’s event was the largest ever involving 35.4 million people in 11, 310 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide. Out of the hundreds of entries that the NATW received (cities or towns with a population between 15,000 - 49,999), the Awards Committee selected only the top entries for a national recognition, with Prescott Valley being the only city in Arizona to receive a National Award.

This award marks the Town’s third national award for National Night Out. The first award was in 1997 for the “Rookie of the Year”, the second award was in 2002, and now the third award in 2007.

This outstanding National Award is due to the support and efforts from the Town of Prescott Valley, the Prescott Valley Police Department, Central Yavapai Fire District, and the following Neighborhood Block Watch and civic organizations:
