About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news.

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

You think it was windy in Prescott this week?

dust2.jpgToday’s moral of the story– ATTITUDE IS ONLY EVERYTHING! Actually, that’s the moral of the story every day, deal with it. Here is some arguable proof–

In the last 30 days there has been a noticeable increase in sales and walk-in traffic in our fine office near the Courthouse Square Plaza, beautiful downtown Prescott, Az. These people are largely “Glass is Half Full” type folks. They are here looking at and buying real estate even though the headlines are whining about a recession, housing bubble, the sky is falling, etc. Nonetheless, the values are fabulous for a handful of brave crusaders who waded back into real estate. Does this mean the “slump” is over? Nope, the statistics show we will stay in this strong buyer’s market for some months at least. Mind you, this is only bad news if you are an impatient seller.

More facts– Resale housing prices are still creeping down and becoming very attractive, the inventory of homes on the MLS is still high so supply and demand are favoring the most competitive prices, and the most “motivated sellers” are the one’s packing their belongings. Following the logic so far?

OK, one more example to prove the point– It’s been windy the last two weeks. Yes, it’s true we are a mile high in the mountains of North-Central Arizona, and yes it’s spring when things tend to be a little windy in a lot of places. Still, some people aren’t happy about the weather and even a little wind sets them off. Take a look at the photo to the right. This is Monument Valley, Arizona, where they filmed all those cool western movies. On my drive back from Denver last week this is what the wind was doing to the scenery. My point is that compared to this, our weather here in Prescott is perfect all year long and the glass is half full.
