About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news.

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

The conference will begin with a delegate Welcome Reception at the Sharlot Hall Museum at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 16th. The conference opens Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Old Club House – Antelope Hills Golf Course . Key topics for the conference will focus on financing and fundraising for local Sister City organizations and enhancing individual Sister City relationships. Speakers at this year’s conference include Prescott Mayor Jack Wilson and Anne Bielecki, the Arizona State Coordinator of Sister Cities International. Roundtable discussions will be led by Arizona State Sister City leaders from cities throughout the State. Greninger says they are expecting approximately 80 attendees at this year’s conference.

While Saturday’s conference is limited to Sister City members, the public is invited to join the Welcome Reception at the Sharlot Hall Museum, at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening. The cost for the reception is $20.00

Over the years, the Sister City Association of Prescott has provided many items of need to the citizens of Caborca, Sonora, Mexico, Prescott’s Sister City. Among these items are a fire engine, an ambulance, school buses, hospital supplies, wheelchairs, walkers, computers, school desks, police equipment and athletic equipment for Caborca’s schools. More importantly, there have been reciprocal visits of Prescott and Caborca students, broadening their language skills as well as cultural and social interaction. The local Prescott/Caborca Sister City group is proud of the sponsorship and support of two orphanages in Caborca that take in abused and abandoned children. The Sister City Association of Prescott actively fulfills the Sister City concept. With over 36 years of caring and sharing, the citizens of the Prescott area should be very proud of this charitable Prescott organization.
