About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news.

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

Please use the contact form to send all comments and suggestions. We look forward to hearing from you.

Northpoint Students Returning from South Africa PDF Print E-mail
Written by Sidney Shepherd
Thursday, 15 May 2008

grouptree2.jpgIt's been nearly 2 weeks since the Northpoint students left for South Africa, and now they're on their way home. Sidney Shepherd, the ninth grade science teacher for Northpoint, is the instructor for the trip. Here is her latest email:

This will be my last email!  Tomorrow is our last day here and then we are on flights for the next 26+ hours.  Today was a great down day for everyone.  We went rock climbing and I have to say Silver stole the show!  He was incredibly agile and just flew up the rocks.  Everyone had fun and was brave to try harder and harder climbs.  A few of the students did not go.  They were under the weather and being nursed back to health by Nancy.  Tim, Will, Tanner, River, and Annie fell within this group.  But Nancy worked her magic, beef bullion, jello, ginger ale, and antibiotics!  Hopefully all will be great by the time we reach home.

The trip has been everything we hoped for and more.  Not one serious incident or complication.  Everything has fallen into place and we all have pictures of cool animals, high school students from other schools, and lots of smiling faces.  The kids have gotten along very well, and we even received a compliment at one of our stays at a backpacking hostel that they have never served teenagers so polite, quiet, and clean before.  We are all welcome back any time!  They are hard at work creating lesson plans and documentary films this evening.  Initial prevue of a few minutes comes this evening.  Thanks for all the hard work and support that has made this possible!  Enjoy the last pic!

Please pass along to all interested parties!

Totsiens!  ('til we see again)

Sidney
