About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news. 

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

Taylor even brought her puppy to check out the first day of school!

It's Back to School today, as thousands of children across the tri-city area head back to the classroom. Prescott Unified School District (PUSD), Humboldt Unified School District (HUSD), and Chino Valley Unified School District(CVUSD) are all starting today.

So, how were they doing? Well, the kids around the districts were looking excited and apprehensive, but the moms? Well, let's just say that more than one was observed in tears as they dropped off their kiddos for the first day of school.

Prescott Unified School District

Prescott elementary students will now be released at 2 pm on Wednesdays, which is new this year. Here is the new PUSD daily schedule: 

Elementary Hours:
Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri - 8:30-2:45
Wed only - 8:30-2:00
PMHMS & GMMS Hours:
Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri - 8:05-3:10
Wed only - 8:05-1:10
PHS & Northpoint Hours:
Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri - 8:05-3:09
Wed only - 8:05-1:10

Humboldt Unified School District

Coyote Springs, Granville, Humboldt, Lake Valley & Mt. View:
Mon -Fri - 8:45-3:15
Liberty School:
Kindergarten Mon - Fri - 8:15-10:45, or 12:15-2:45
Extended Kindergarten - 3rd grade: 8:15-2:45
4th-8th: 8:00-2:45
Bradshaw Middle School & Glassford Hill Middle School:
Mon - Fri - 7:30-2:15
Bradshaw Mountain High School:
Mon - Fri - 7:45-3:15

Chino Valley School District

Chino Valley School District also has an early release day, but it's on Friday. But their hours are different at each school and each grade.

Del Rio:
K-2: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu - 7:45 - 1:30
3-5th - Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu - 7:45 - 2:30
Fri only - 7:45-1
Territorial:
K-3: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu - 7:40 - 2:30
3-5th - Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu - 7:40 - 3:10
Fri only - 7:40-12:30
Heritage Middle School:
Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs - 8:15-3:45
Fri only - 8:15-11:25
Chino Valley High School:
Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs - 8:30-2:45
Wed only - 8:30-2:15
