About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news.

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

This Saturday evening, May 10th Sacred Heart Catholic School will hold their 4th annual fundraiser called, “A Time to Shine.” The event will be held at the Prescott Resort and starts at 5:00pm in the foyer of the Grand Ballroom. The dinner will begin at 6:00pm.

The audience will be in for a treat as the performing troupe, Entertainment Events will travel from New York to present their comedy play, Late Night Catechism. The play will begin at approximately 7:00 pm, and is an interactive performance with the stage being set up as a classroom, and the audience getting to be the pupils.

Director of Stewardship and Development, Yvonne Bartlett says there will be a silent auction and a live auction with items ranging from antique jewelry, flight simulator time and a bar-b-que.

Bartlett says that the funds raised from the event go to a variety of different projects each year. One year they were able to pair with the E. L. Wiegand Foundation for a grant, which resulted in new science lab and playground equipment. Bartlett says that each year they look around and the “funds go where they are needed the most.”

Tickets for the event are $125, and there will be dancing after the play with live DJ Paul Hurt from Prescott DJ Services. Tickets can be purchased on-line.
