About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news.

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

Please use the contact form to send all comments and suggestions. We look forward to hearing from you.

A Lot of 8’s on this Baby’s Birth Certificate PDF Print E-mail

Carol Lewis holds Michael Wayne Lewis III as Dad, Michael Lewis (left) and brother Josh (right) look on with pride.

Newborn Michael Wayne Lewis III has a lot of 8’s on his brand new birth certificate. He was born on 8/18/08 at 8:00 am, and weighed in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces. Born at the Yavapai Regional Medical Center, the baby’s mother, Carol Lewis calls him her “Lucky 8 Baby.”

Dad Michael Lewis is beaming as he flips open his cell phone to note the time. Not that Lewis cares about anything outside the maternity ward that day. He grins and says, “He’s exactly 9 hours old now.” And Lewis is determined not to lose sight of his baby. When the nurse rolls little Michael down the hall for routine blood tests, Lewis sticks with that baby like glue.

Mom Carol is, of course exhausted, but happy, saying that the baby was actually due on the 28th. That made him 10 days early but a child who was determined to keep with that “number 8” theme he has going. Carol Lewis works for the Yavapai County Health Department and Dad Michael works for Prescott High School as a Behavior Coach. Big brother Josh is a senior in high school, and smiles tentatively as he speaks about his new role as a big brother. When asked if he is excited about being a big brother for the first time he smiles a little and says simply, “Yes.”

Michael Lewis can barely contain his happiness as he gazes as his newborn son. Having a newborn is a first for Lewis and he looks simply joyful as he tries on his new role for the first time: Daddy.
