When you walk into several coffee shops in the tri-city area, places like Yellow Leaf, Step One Coffee Shop, and other trendy popular places, you may notice a small sign in the window that says, Bulleri Networks Hotspot. When you purchase a new home in Paulden from Best Buy Homes Inc.., you get one year of free Internet service with Bulleri Networks. Local companies like Summit Bank, The Raven Cafe, and Roadrunner Optical sing their praises.
Who are these guys? Where did they come from? Why are they here? “These guys” are a highly professional group of skilled and knowledgeable technicians, programmers, tech support, and sales reps who want Prescott and the quad city to know they are here, they are up and running, and are ready to deliver high quality service for individuals and furnish creative solutions for local businesses. Bulleri Networks is Dino Bulleri’s new local Internet company. Bulleri has owned the Bulleri Building for 27 years, and is well known and respected in the community. Darrin Charbonneau, Systems Engineer for Bulleri, says that when people find out he works for Mr. Bulleri they say, “You work for a very class act.” and, he’s a “very quality individual.” Bulleri has launched high speed wireless Internet service for Prescott and the quad city area, and Bulleri Networks is growing fast and going strong. Charbonneau, a recent import to Prescott from Canada, is a journeyman tradesman, a Microsoft systems engineer, and a network engineer. Charbonneau was hired to do training at Bulleri, and when a job opening occurred, he had by this time fallen in love with Prescott, and was able to step right in. He said, “The town drew me.” And we all felt “it was a perfect match.” Since Charbonneau came on board 18 months ago they’ve added a backup engineer, another Microsoft Systems Engineer and have become an IBM, Wenover and Lexmark reseller. He says, “We’ve really been building a team.” Bulleri says they like to think outside the box and go for premium product that you can’t just buy off the shelf. “We have the expertise to maintain and install it. We have service contracts and service everything we sell.” Internet service is 75% of our business. The $19.95 high speed internet is their biggest selling product. Charbonneau says, “Our primary drive right now is really to reach the people who have limited and no options when it comes to Internet. We’re looking at places like Coyote Springs, Dewey, Cherry, parts of Williamson Valley, Hootenanny Holler; places that traditionally haven’t been able to be serviced with high speed internet. We’re meeting some needs there. We’re also picking up some clients who are switching to us. They appreciate our "we do what we say, say what we do attitude.” There are several levels of service, the first being for people who are simply tired of dial up. Account Manager Raymond Urso feels that this service really serves the market People don’t want to tie up their phones anymore and, at $19.95, with “256k up and down, always on” service, it makes life much easier for folks who want simple Internet access. They offer several other options for Internet service with speeds of: 384K, 768K 1Mbs, 2Mbps and up to 10 Mbps. They are particually proud of the reliability and performance of their service and that the upload and download speeds remain symmetrical. Addition services include website hosting, wireless T1 service, virus protection and content filtering, firewall and router configuration, server co-location, and no hidden equipment fees. They also provide DVR security solutions for individuals and businesses. If something happens, the client simply pushes “H” on their computer and their information goes straight to the police department. The police department knows the source and can watch everything. In addition employers can use the service to monitor their production lines, prevent fake accidents, watch for OSHA violations, etc. Email broken? They have a help desk that’s there to help, not give you the run-around saying the problem is somewhere else. Everything is in-house, so there is no somewhere else”. They continue to grow, and are working with local colleges to bring in interns, so students can receive on the job training. They feel this is a way to give back to the community. Charbonneau says, “It’s a win-win situation for everyone.” Charbonneau is very excited about an event in the planning stages for this fall. In conjunction with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, they will be co-hosting a “gaming day”. They will rent out a big room in a local hotel and fill it up with tables. Bulleri will do all the networking, and set up the room for what’s called a LAN (Local Area Network) party. This is usually a 24 hour event where people plug their computers in and play computer games with each other day and night. Charbonneau, obviousely excited at the prospect, says, “College students, kids, and even older gamers come with their sleeping bags, big jugs of coke, and they’re in there for 24 hours straight. We’re going to do that here.” A fun and innovative event from an innovative company for a wonderful organization.
